Chicken Pox (21 - 28 August 2009)

We brought Isabelle to see her PD on 21 Aug 09 noon for her last immunisation jab. That evening, I notice some little red spots at the inner-side of her thighs. Thinking those must be mozzie bits (or perhaps some reaction from today's jab) - hence believed that it would be ok after applying the cream.

Sat morning after her shower, noticed that the red spots are still there - in fact getting slightly bigger. Me, being my usual self - started to feel worried and INSISTED of bringing her back to see her PD (why I say INSISTED cos papa initially thought the red dots were rashes).

Am glad of my maternal instinct - PD confirmed Isabelle is having Chicken Pox (HOW COME??? She had already taken the chicken pox vaccine).

I was fortunate that I was allowed to work from home for the next few days so that I would be able to look after Isabelle myself. Despite the discomfort she is feeling (itchy itchy plus fever), fortunately Isabelle was still very much her usual self and was quite manageable.

Ryan behaved well during this period of time cos he knows that mei mei is not well. And he has been Isabelle's only play mate for this week as chicken pox is contagious hence was unable to bring them out. It is really a joy seeing the 2 of them playing / bonding so well with each other. Thumb up to both kiddos!
